A disappointing Masters from a viewing and betting standpoint as Jordan Speith produced a real master class in short game skills to comfortably hold off the challenge of Justin Rose. One particular moment of brilliance that I thought summed it up was on the 18th on Saturday when he found himself out of position at the back of the green. It looked like it would be a bogey at best yet somehow he got “up and down” holing a wicked 8ft putt. I was in an excellent trading position on Rose with a lovely 4 figure green on him yet he never quite got close enough to lock in any profit and the same applied on Sunday when every time he produced anything Speith immediately  answered back with the same.

Golf wise its all going rather well with all three tipsters chipping in nicely (see what i did there?!) with winners and places to leave the pot standing at an amazing 224 points profit. Latest winner came last weekend with Aphinbarnrat taking time out from playing darts to bring home a nice 3pt 40/1 winner. He did his best to lose as at the end of the Saturday round he gave 5 shots to the field and putted terribly on Sunday. An amazing eagle at 17 on Sunday set him up for a play off with the guy he was playing making the rookie error of watching the final holes rather than keeping loose on the range.

Grand National day was a winner  for the bookies with a couple of the big boys (Coral and Ladbrokes) offering 4 places and the average over round of all bookies being 160% . Appalling. The fact that Ladbrokes website is so poor at the moment meant that hopefully no one could log in to get ripped off.

Mrs Blogger managed to pick the winner although some disquiet in blogger towers when my ” show me your winning ticket and I’ll pay you your winnings@ was met with some words Ive not heard since I went to Millwall away in 1989.

A huge weekend for the football betting after my decision to jettison The Football analyst in early March ( a good decision if the subsequent emails and tweets are anything to go by). I really do need the Football Investor to hang on to the profit his made this year so that I can show some reward for the effort expended. Steve over at Daily 25 has indicated that he is going to cut back on his football betting next year and its something Im also going to do as not only does it take the most time but chasing the best prices tends to burn accounts if those big aways do actually land.

Running out of time here but I’ll post up a palp for the Masters that never happened – will be interested to know peoples views on it.
